Subdomain Discovery
Add your domain names to Dashi USM™ and it will immediately begin scanning for subdomains linked to them.
Why is subdomain discovery important?
Understanding your attack surface is of critical importance when it comes to securing your data. Subdomain discovery in Dashi USM™ helps to identify all the subdomains that are linked to your domain names so you can add them as endpoints.
Subdomain discovery helps you:
- Make sure you're monitoring all your servers. Even the ones you forgot about.
- Know when changes are made. Dashi USM™ generates Events when new subdomains are discovered, removed, or when existing ones change. This can give you a critical heads up if an attacker has made unauthorized changes.
- Discover shadow IT. Employees may have set up their own servers or services without your knowledge. Subdomain discovery can help you find them.
Adding your endpoints to Dashi USM™ is the first step to:
- Port scanning. Newly added endpoints will automatically be scanned for open ports to identify services running on the endpoint.
- Document assets. Quickly and easily list information assets stored or processed on the endpoint.
- Run vulnerability scans. Dashi USM™ vulnerability scans identify potential security issues.
- Add URLs. Add the URL(s) hosted on each Endpoint to enable additional monitoring and scanning capabilities.
